Last season we saw the pencil skirt make a big comeback in an overall direction towards hourglass silhouettes. For S12, both classic and elongated pencil shapes remain, but the newness comes in the form of peplums. Of course we did see some indicators of peplums last season, which makes for ANOTHER Marc Jacobs trend to translate into this season. While peplums are a natural match for pencil silhouettes as well as sheath dresses, tops are also starting to see some of the action paired with slim bottoms.
