I’m always amused by eager beaver fashion student views upon the industry that it must be oh-so-glamourous because in reality, it’s not. As a co-worker of mine likes to say – “These interns come in here with high hopes, and our job is to knock them down.” Well, it’s not exactly that harsh, however amusing that may be. In reality most jobs in fashion are maybe 5% glamour, except when it comes to someone like Anna Dello Russo who is perhaps the epitome of glamour in her daily (mainly fashion week) attire.
An exhibit happening now at The Bay department store in Toronto titled When Tommy Met Anna features the love affair-ish story of the Vogue Nippon editor at large captured by shutterbug/blogger Tommy Ton of JakandJill. The photos document ADR in fabulous looks dating back through March 2007 – the onset of Tommy and Anna’s friendship and ADR’s ultimate rise to editrix street style fame. It doesn’t get more glamourous than this kids. Read more here.
